The Autumn Gathering is an opportunity for members of Mountaineering Ireland from across Ireland to come meet up and to explore some of the finest walks and climb found in Ireland. It will be wonderful to see so many walkers and climbers staying in the village for the weekend.

The Mountaineering Ireland event brochure describes the Sneem Autumn Gathering as a “visit to some of the lesser known, yet beautiful, sandstone mountains on the Iveragh Peninsula.

The mountains surrounding Sneem have a wild and rugged character, with corrie lakes, rocky ridges and big skies above. Furthermore, some scenic sections of the Kerry Way are nearby for people to enjoy, all from the charming and colourful town of Sneem.

There is an exciting programme of activities taking place across the weekend, including hillwalking, navigation, rock climbing and an environment walk.
